Joyce Treasure, who was instrumental in organising and delivering the Home Park Family Fun day July 2010 is taking part in a Christmas Art Exhibition in Sydenham.

Thursday 24 November, 6pm-9pm Alhambra (who supported FOHP with the Family Funday/Arts in the Park event) are hosting:

PREVIEW: Christmas Art Exhibition
Local artists Joyce Treasure, Lara Bowen and Nick Haseltine say
Come and join us for a glass of sangria, some complimentary tapas and your chance to enjoy work by three of SE26′s finest artists. Joyce does monochrome figurative ‘Afro’ pictures (www.joycetreasure.co.uk), Lara paints plants and fruit in oil and acrylic (www.larabowen.co.uk) and Nick does stylish building and landscape prints. Perfect Christmas presents, all!

As part of the Diamond Jubilee, Fields in Trust are launching a competition to vote for outdoor recreational spaces to be protected and enhanced. Cllr Chris Best has nominated Home Park as one of Lewisham’s parks.

HOME PARK ADVENTURE PLAYGROUND BURNT DOWN

We are saddened by the mindless destruction caused in Home Park of the Adventure playground in the early hours of Tuesday morning, August 2011. The fire was started between the hours of 4.00-5.00am.

If anyone has any information on who was involved in this mindless destruction, please call 020 8345 4142 or alternatively anyone can report crime and provide information anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

This achieved nothing except depriving young people of something to do. If anyone knows of any information to bring those who committed this crime to justice please contact the police on one of numbers above.

Friends of Home Park say thank you to Kirkdale Bookshop for your donation of £5 gift voucher for the Childrens Book Reading Party that took place at Sydenham Library Saturday 9th, organised by Friends Of Home Park in partnership with Sydenham Library.
The gift was one of the main prizes in a free raffle; and we announced that to the parents that this was dontated by Kirkdale Bookshop.

Many thanks to The Cake Store who donated two boxes of loveley Gingerbread men for the party; the children (and the adults) loved them.

The Cake Store is on the junction of Sydenham and Mayow roads and featured on one of Heston Blumenthals Feast’s programs.
